MED 24/7 – THE BEGINNING
This is a family business started by father and son team, Michel and Marlin Kops in 2011. Both Michel and Marlin are trained Intermediate Life Support Practitioners. The service started with just one ambulance and was run from the family home in Phokeng. Michel and Marlin started off by working on the ambulance themselves and would respond to all calls personally.
They serviced Rustenburg and surrounding areas. It soon became apparent that the business was growing at a rapid rate and that they required more personnel and a bigger, more centrally located premises. They purchased the premises where the business is currently situated at the beginning of 2012.
The house on the premises was re-vamped and renovated and the crew room and paramedic room were built on. Over a two year period the premises underwent vast changes and improvements to become the sophisticated building we have today. The fleet of ambulances also grew as time went on and numerous ambulances were purchased and sold over a two year time frame.
The business remains a family business with father and son being the two directors of the business. What started off as a dream and a pure passion for the field of emergency medicine has now grown into a well respected and well rounded business.
OUR MISSION – TO SERVE
We are a private ambulance service focused on providing quality emergency medical care to the greater Rustenburg community and surrounding areas.
We service both patients who have medical aids and those who don’t. We are also service providers to all of the large medical administrators and their clients, being the medical aids. We are focused on using the best medical equipment and resources to ensure the treatment our patients receive is top class.
Our core function is emergency medical care but we also provide medical services at all sporting events or social gatherings. We furthermore offer first aid training to individuals and groups.
We ensure that our personnel and equipment are up to date with the latest developments in our field at all times.
